Movement Practice is an offering that encourages you to get curious about how you move your body.
Why? Because the more you investigate your movement patterns, the more you will learn about yourself and how you move through your life.
Find yourself stuck in a rut? You might be repeating the same old same old. Struggling to get going? You might be spending a bit too much time Netflix and chilling. Can’t seem to slow down? You might be rushing through your days unconsciously.
At Movement Practice we encourage you to listen and adapt to what is necessary for your body in the moment rather than ticking off another workout from your to-do list.
How? Get dressed, be ready and get present with your body in movement.
Take the time to notice what’s working and what’s not. What needs adjusting and what needs more space. Where are your limits and how can you increase your capacity for ease, discomfort, extra effort or less effort?
These are all questions that might arise as we move through our practice together. The good news is that you’re likely to discover some answers by engaging with the work.
Drawing from contemporary dance principles, movement research and alternative training methods, Movement Practice classes and workshops provide students with strong foundations of physical, mental and emotional awareness.
